St William of york Church Ecclessall road Sheffield – Wedding
February 24, 2011 by roar

The very next day after the wedding at Sheffield’s Kenwood hall Hotel I was shooting another wedding on Ecclessall road. Another great Autumn day with sunny intervals, great light and interesting cloud formations. The church doesn’t look much from the outside but the inside is very modern and incredibly bright which is rare for a church. So, no nightmares trying to shoot in the dark! An interesting stain glass window and a very modern metal sculpture of Christ on the cross. This was a catholic wedding joining in matrimony an English rose and an Italian Stallion.

After the ceremony we gathered outside for some photos and then walked a short way from the church to some gardens down the hill. Flowers were in bloom and the sky was blue. The bride and groom were very presentable and so presented no obstacles. All in all a picture perfect setting. The Rolls Royce then drove away with me in hot pursuit to the reception at the Sheffield park hotel. We did some shots outside the front of the hotel with the bride, groom and Rolls in very dramatic light and then went indoors for everyone except me to relax and have a drink. there is a small garden at the back of the hotel and I was able to gain access to a room to shoot out of a window to get a group shot looking down on the guests.

I was only booked for four hours this day and so after doing some formal shots of prominent family members and lots of reportage shots of the guests I was away.

All the best to Lucy and Luis.
