This year has seen a big increase in the number of weddings I have photographed in Sheffield. This is due to the fact that I recieved funding money from Sheffield Enterprise Agency and also technical support from Digital Entrepreneurs. With the funding I launched Duke’s weddings and was able to produce business cards, sample albums and framed prints to show to prospective clients. Prior to this I had gained all of my work through word of mouth. Digital Entrepreneurs helped me to re-design the website I had built. This site appears on the Google business listings when searching for wedding photographers Sheffield.
One of the jobs I secured was at St Paul’s Hotel in the heart of Sheffield City Centre. The hotel itself is an adequate venue although from a photographers point of view it’s a bit dark and hard to light. If you know what you are doing you can combat this with flash lighting. The great plus to this venue is that it is next to the Peace and Winter Gardens, two fantastically photogenic venues. The Winter Gardens is a photographers paradise as it is light, covered and has luscious backgrounds. The architecture is stunning and creates a superb backdrop to photos taken there. Similarly the Peace Gardens has a great iconic background although being outside is not quite as suitable as an all seasons location.
